This policy covers massif.earth and the Massif invite list.
Who runs this site
massif.earth and the invite list are run by the company that makes Massif. You can reach us at privacy@massif.earth.
What this site collects
Nothing, unless you request an invite. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies. Fonts, images and video are all served from massif.earth.
Do Not Track
The site doesn’t track anyone, so the signal has nothing to change.
The invite list
When you request an invite, we store:
- your email address
- where you hunt (public land, private land or both), if you tell us
- your home state, if you tell us
- the date and time you joined
We use your email to send your invite. We also email about the list itself, such as a change to this policy or a deletion you asked for. We use your other answers to see, in total, where interested hunters are. We never sell the list or share it with anyone.
Stopping automated sign-ups
To block automated sign-ups, our server keeps a short-lived count of requests from each IP address, in memory only, for about 10 minutes. IP addresses are never written to the list or to our logs.
Hosting
The site runs on Fly.io. Like any host, Fly.io handles connection data such as IP addresses to deliver pages. We don’t use that data to track visitors.
Invite email comes from hello@massif.earth. If we use an email delivery service to send it, we’ll name that service here before the first email goes out.
Leaving the list
Email privacy@massif.earth from the address you signed up with. We’ll delete your entry within 30 days and confirm by email. You can also ask what we hold about you, and we’ll tell you.
How long we keep it
We keep your entry until you ask us to remove it or the invite program ends, whichever comes first.
Children
The list is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects the list, we’ll email the people on it.
